It's not completely terrible, but yes.. its a very basic manga style. Some other mangas use more complex shapes and more fluent lines to describe the characters, but I like to assume that Clamp is directed towards those who like the traditional manga style. Personally, I like a more realistic style like the one used in Studio Ghibli's "Ocean Waves" even though I disliked the actual anime movie itself. Really, it's just a matter of preference. If it's not your style that's fine, haha. But it doesn't mean it sucks. ^^
also, you might want to look into Chobits, it's by Clamp but the art is quite a bit different and the lines and proportions are much more fluent than rigid as you see in the original Tsubasa Chronicles and such. ^^
