Though I love it, I understand that its strange taste can be very unappelaing.
I can think of only two reasons for it to seem bitter.
Most likely, it was that specific serving or the brand which was higher in vitamin B than the usual natto I find.
But there is also chance that it was you being more sensitive to the niacin (a B vitamin) in it. I can't recall whether its when the body needs it, or when it doesn't need it, that makes a person more aware of its acrid flavor.
