All of us older members are chiming in with the same warning..... Don't do it! And I say this even though I have a kanji tattooed on my thigh.
First a permanent mark such as a tatto without long serious thought is foolish. Will you still like your design in 40 years?
Secondly, as everyone is pointing out, you are risking a misinterpretation that could mark you for life with something really stupid that is nothing close to what you meant.
For the record, I personally researched mine in Japanese, Chinese (2 dialects) and Korean with several texts and native speakers before inking "Kuma". I was not about to trust a stranger or some anglo to know the correct kanji.
