Of course if you only take 12 hours per semester then its 5 semesters, but usually that's the bare minimum to be considered a full time student.

I don't know about your school but at my school 60 credits would be 2 years as well. 15 credits per semester and each class is worth 3 credits. so 15 x 4 semester is 60 credits.
