I am also in the process of going through the JET application. And another thing that was a concern for me, and is certainly something to think about is that one of the biggest private companies Nova that functions in the same capacity as the JET Program through the government went bankrupt a few years ago. You may find better pay privately, but for the support systems in place and the safety of it JET was the clear option for me. To address your ? SS, I have heard of former ALTs moving on after contracts to different schools but still only as ALTs but I dont know enough to say 1 way or another.
