It's probably because they have a lot more homework. I was actually doing a project on japan, and in japan and such places, they are much more serious with their studies, unlike here, in North America, (not to offend anyone), alot of people I've met seem to not really take an education seriously. So many times people in my class are told to take up their homework, and they are like "We had homework?"
