The last time I could really celebrate it right was 1999 on the banks of the Thames just upstream from the Tower with Laird Blair. <sigh> No bonfires, but plenty of fireworks.

That's interesting, I believe London is a great place to be. Do you visit often? I originate from the West Country, where they sometimes celebrate with burning barrels of tar as a kind of warning for evil spirits (I think in the village of Ottery St. Mary).
Is it rare to celebrate it in the USA?
