sooo since i was raised on chinese food, it's grown to be somewhat of a bore

and carpaccio is the most wonderful thing ever x]
thin slices of either raw beef or fish
drizzled w/ olive oil, a bit of salt, a crack of pepper, sprinkled w/ finely grated parmesan cheese and thinly sliced leaves of fresh basil, topped w/ a bit of capers and then finished w/ a squirt of lemon juice for that faint but oh so appetising hint of fresh sourness.
