Actually come to think of it, there are some pretty good ramen shops outside of Japan too. I've had some dang good ramen in Honolulu (Hawaii), and some decent ramen in Seattle as well. I'm sure you can find a good ramen shop in any major metropolitan city.

yeah you are right, they will never be the same as compared with an actual store, but it's all about how close they can get.
i love the tonkotsu instant ramen @7-11 that has an actual piece of chashu in it...heavenly. We have ton's of ramen shops here, most of them however, are crap...there are a few decent and 1 great one (almost as good as japan)...which you'll pretty much always have to wait in line to get in to.
