"Visuel Kei" has actually been around forever, and is not just derived from Gothic Lolita and Victorian styles. VK is basically just people dressing up in unusual styles and performing something musical, is it not? If you think about it that way, then the first sentence of this paragraph is true. Gothic Lolita is a big part of it though. Emo is just a type of VK, but a westernized version, in my opinion. But normally, when people think of Visual Kei, they think of X Japan, Gazette, Versailles, whatever your favorite J-rock groups are, it doesn't matter. That means Kiss is technically "VK," right? And so is Viking metal. I see it as a perspective kind of thing.

I know you hate me. but this needed to be corrected.
Visual Kei just means "Visual Style"
So technically. Kiss IS VK.
VK just copied everything that Glam Rock/Metal was in the 80s.
and man. I've seen so many VK artists try to be Manson.
VK is just Glam. Japan's always been 20 years behind when it comes to popular music, so that explains a lot.
and VK and Jrock is practically the same. most of the jrockers dress VK anyway.
