How's your Japanese? Because it's very hard to really feel like you belong in a place where you don't speak, read, or write the language very well (or at all). I loved living in Japan, and at first my pitiful Japanese ability didn't really bother me. I was able to get by, figure things out, even travel. And people were very helpful. But over time it became more and more of an annoyance. Being functionally illiterate and unintelligible is no fun, in the long run.
