I decided to take the post a poem thread (which I have to say is really selfish because people don't even comment on each others poems) and make a "post a short story"- true or fiction... are there any writers?
Here's a short lil' tale called "Creaky Door". If you have a short attention span, you can read this too because it has a shocking twist!
A large, seemingly ancient door creaks as a young boy, dressed in uniform, enters the room. Multi-colored light drearily shines through the biblically themed stained glass windows; revealing the accumulation of dust swirling in the motionless air. An obese, nervous man sits alone at the large wooden desk-
Although feeble in appearance, this man speaks loudly; demanding respect.
“Why have you disturbed me during my hour of worship? What act of blasphemy have you committed?”… Beads of sweat drip slowly off this neurotic mans face.
“…Forgive me father, for I have sinned…” the boy says, in an innocent delicate tone.
With a timid stutter, he continues…
“During the dark hours of yesterday’s eve, I tried to make an escape, Father. For I long to feel the embrace of my mother and father.”
Angry and red-faced, the clergyman shouts uncontrollably.
“This is a pathetic act of sacrilege! God will tend to your ignorance, child! For now… I condemn you to the cellar of infidelity- 3 days, no supper nor drink! I suggest you ask Jesus for your forgiveness… for he is generous and kind.”
Without any further communication, the boy leaves the room. A single tear falls from his cheek as he exits through the door in which he entered.
With a quick glance around the room, the large man stands- revealing his stripped underpants, and desperately skinny unperportioned legs.
He quickly pulls up his trousers.
And from underneath the desk, a woman crawls out- fixing her sloppy hair, adjusting her garments.
“Thank you, Sister Mary. May God bless you.”
And without speech, the woman exits throughout that same creaky door.
