It was at Kongourinji (
金剛輪寺). Not a huge famous place, but it`s well known enough for it`s "血染め紅葉" - which is why I took the time to drive over there. And it was well worth it. Last autumn was supposedly some of the best conditions for producing amazing color, and it really was true.
But it`s most certainly well off the foreign tourist path. The only way up there is literally to drive or take a tour bus.
