i always use Ball Strings 9/42 Gauge or 'Super Slinkies' they have awesome tone and are really versatile (plus they're the ones Jimmy Page uses!)
Pacificas are fantastic guitars,they sound and feel like something much more expensive and they're very reliable
what sort of amp are you planning on?
