The Boredom Prevails
“Sister, I’m bored!”
“Well I can’t help you. Now, get out of my room.”
“Ugh,” a little girl, about 8 or 9, closed her sister’s door and headed outside.
She leaped off the porch, only a foot or so high, and wandered over to her sandbox.
Well, hello there Mr. Butterfly, how are you today?” she giggled when a yellow butterfly flew off form its perch on the shovel and landed on her nose.
“Shoo shoo,” she waved it off and sat down to play in the sand, grabbing the shovel and pail.
“Sing sing sing a song,” she hummed while attempting to build a sandcastle. It worked while on the ground but when she tried to stack another on top, it failed epically and the sand tumbled to the ground.
“Boredom kills everything,” she muttered, storming off to find something else to do.
And in that sand box, two simple words lay, ‘Boredom Prevails.’
