Not to mention trying to rent any real estate in Japan is next to impossible if you are non-Japanese and haven't got guarantors.
Still people can dream on :P.
Well I was sent to Japan for work for a week once with all the perks, Grand Hyatt Tokyo in Roppongi Hills accommodation, slack hours, per diem allowance, it felt like heaven but clearly this isn't going to last. Looking at how miserable the people I had to worth with, it was enough for me.
Japanese culture still has a lot to offer but living in Japan is clearly a different ball game.
