A lot of fans complained about censorship/editing as they want the same thing the Japanese readers are getting...and publishers are responding. Dark Horse has entered what it calls an "ere of no censorship". They have declared if they are going to stand behind a title, then censoring is not in the equation. I believe there was one censor in Berserk a few years ago (it was a child rape scene, if I remember correctly)
I see you mention language in translation, and I hope you aren't comparing scanlations to traditional translations. Japanese does not have swearing in the same way we do in English. I notice scanlations tend to be more liberal with the profanity, so don't assume profanity in official translations are censored.
