Yeah, i'm lucky in that respect. Almost everybody I work with at the university is really nice, have settled down here and pretty much know what's going on. Before that i worked in a small, independently run school with my friend from back home and 2 other teachers.
A lot of the teachers I've met from the big Eikaiwa companies are enough to make me want to punch myself in the face for being a fellow gaijin. Which brings me back to the stuff I wrote in my first (deleted) post, so i'm gonna stop now.
