I listen to JRock because I like it. I enjoy the challenge of people calling me "weird" for liking Japanese music. I like that I care strongly for my music, enough to stand up for it when it's put down - and people respect me for standing up.
I like teaching people that America's music isn't the center of the universe. I like that JRock ALLOWS me to teach people that America's music isn't the center of the universe. I like being asked questions and answering people's curiosity.
Of course, I'm ridiculed just as everyone else is for liking JRock, but I see it as a "skin toughening" experience
