Please don't feel mean - you are helping me, and I'm happy about it.
As far as こんこん、can I use this when greeting friends? What is the feeling - friendly, informal, silly, or something else?
One thing I always miss out on in learning from a book is the real way that Japanese people speak to each other. Books tend to teach you way too formal Japanese for everyday use.
Thank you again for your help!
