I like to think that before a strike occurs, the consequences of the actions of the Western coalition are contrasted against the potential threat North Korea poses particularly towards the citizens of Japan and South Korea.

I'd hardly call it a full-fledged war. While the initial loss of civilian life as a result of North Korean retaliation would be great. The war would be over in weeks. US/Japanese/South Korean military equipment is far more sophisticated than the Chinese/Russian crap the North Koreans use.

Most of the North Korean air-force and command and control will be destroyed in one day.
