Interesting how people posting here think that an anime from roughly 10 years ago is old? Heh you dont get that with books...
And are we restricted to anime series? I'm really surprised no-ones mentioned either Akira or Ghost in the Shell (the original movie). Or Guyver, though I never did like all that violence. Anyway here goes:
