ok as a chick I'll have to say that both performances were a breakthrough for the decade they were released in in. Yes Scarface was a brutal look at a cocaine king...(& was also the main reason why I never touched that stuff in the first place...to this day I hate the sound of sniffling noses...even my own when I'm sick), & yes it is a classic that I hope to god does not get remade but then one of the reasons why it gets so over the top is due to the influence its made on todays youth...through music, parodies, shirts, what have you.
The joker on the other hand reflects on what this society is witnessing now: dark events becoming more rampant in the world (of course i'm talking about war, drug use etc., etc., etc.). if im correct, didnt scarface kill more people than the Joker did (in their respective movies i mean)? & i know people have questioned this to the point of wanting to hurt someone, but how would this role be if Heath Ledger have lived?
i hope this made sense...
