thats seems like selfish love. you want a guy to spend lots of money he probably doesnt have so you can look at a tiny rock as a representation of 'love'

i think if someone who was offered a diamond really loved their partner, would tell them to return it, so that money can be spent to go on a vacation or something where they will both have a good time with each other
