My ex-boyfriend's aunt is Filipino [she actually met his uncle for the first time in the Philippines [they met online]]. She said that fish eyes are a delicacy there and my ex confirmed it saying last time he was at there house she made fish and popped the eyes out and ate them like candy. I guess it could just be her household or something, but to each their own
