Its okay I dont really take offence, I know Im a newbie at this and that I am approaching this in an awkward way ^_^*

Although its an actual novel Im translating not a manga lol also the reason I was confused with the whole kanji katakana deal was because I thought it might be another way to say ma in katakana, I ran into a similar case with ri in hiragana which is why I asked *the only reason why I knew the difference with that one was cause of an older dictionary I had*

and the reason Im learning this way is cause I want to familiarize myself with the kanji, hiragana, and katakana before learning the language, cause before I translate the book to english Im translating everything to Hiragana *though keeping the kanji on the side for those that have the katakana or hiragana next to it (forgot the term for it)*

This way its like using flash cards for example when I see this kanji 月
I think oh thats Tsuki! so when I learn what all the hiragana and katakana is and translate that to english its oh! Tsuki is Moon! Im backwards lol
