After you discussed what? I still see no reason why to not hold that statement.

Vampires in this movie aren't vampires at all. New creatures, yeah, but I see nothing related to vampires.

The European myth originated way before that FYI. And it wasn't about books, they really believed in it... reported sightings and various stuff like that.

I'm not saying I believe in that, but that is a real myth, not something you decide to write someday, name it 'Vampire', when it has nothing related to them.
