A simple answer to the question will probably be no.
I've only lived in the states for a few years now and I can honestly say that I wish America was in tune with the rest of the world. It sure would have helped me ace some of the math questions I failed due to inches, yards and what not..... but (shikashi.. right?) from what I've seen, this country is a world of its own. Most Americans take pride in their individuality.
They're simply working with what's best for them.
Besides neither of the systems are hard to deal with if you take the time to review them. If I can do it (which I did) anyone can. You know what they say...knowledge is power. It never hurts for both groups to understand each other.

Now...if we can only convince Americans to acknowledge football as football and not soccer...
