I think the thing you need to work on for now is not giving a fuck about what other people think when you DO ask a girl out on a date.

Try realising that you are not a failure if you have other priorities in your life AT THE MOMENT. This does not mean this will be like this for your entire life because like most people, your priorities/needs/wants/environment/sociality/personality/status/interests will change.

Try not to worry about it too much, but do not let it linger around either.
