I'm going to try to play through the stack of games in my closet before getting a PS3, but when you go to college and/or get a job, all your times mysteriously goes away . . . .

And, yeah, cartridge-based games have always been very expensive. I remember when Donkey Kong Country came out for the SNES (that's only one generation away from an 8-bit, mind you!) at pushing $60. My brother, sister, and I bought it at Wal-Mart with a shoe box full of change.

Now that developers are publishing on discs, those initial prices can be a little less painful.
