Believe me. There's no reason to worry. The reason this kinda story makes the rounds, especially on the internet, is
because it's scary. You don't get viral internet fads about how fascinating and complex Mayan culture was. You just get them about how these creepy, wise seeming ancient people said you're gonna die in a terrifying fashion.
Think skeptically and you'll be able to relax.
