As someone just showed, the apocalyptic angle wasn't necessarily the intention of the Mayans, and just exploded on the internet.

I don't think either of us know the details of these things particularly well. Please listen to these explanations by someone who has researched the topic. If you don't believe him then that's that, but at least go over some research. Maybe follow
some citations on the Wiki page at least.
