Not terrible, but perhaps your perception of fashion controls more about your ideas than you think.
Take Rambo, for example. The old movies fuc*ing suck. But the new one was cool. Yet, when Rambo was back in its day, it was cool then.
It's just changing fashion, culture and perception.
For an artist to become timeless, they have to get beyond all those things, and create a true master piece.
Very few people can do that, and that is why there is so very few famous people from this genre we know today.
It's kind of childish to assume all your favorite rock bands will be remembered for the next 500 years just because they were popular in their time with you not taking into account the shifting sands.
