If you look carefully enough, America's freedoms are being stripped away. Europe started the freedom drives a long time ago and has many hallmark documents which guarantee key freedoms. The European Convention on Human Rights, for example. Just read Penny Ur, an excellent author.

Ignorance is what is driving those parents. Were they to open their eyes, they'd see encroachment into the lives of Americans. They just don't interpret it as such. Some will always have rose-tinted glasses on but you have to be your own person.
