what i did when my mp3 player got really scratched up was:
i got a couple free stickers from zumies and cut them into small triangle-looking shapes, then stuck the pieces over it to look like one of those "skins" you put on electronics. it looks really cool if you mix colors and overlap. it doesn't cost money and you can do it yourself
