if i recall right it is even the busiest in the world with over 2 millionen people passing through a day. Other stations might be bigger ( i think Nagoya is) but Shinjuku is hard to navigate for beginners. Its ok as long as you stay insinde, you can follow the signs, but meeting with you friend or searching a specific exit is difficult the first times.
