WOO HOO My problem has gone and i think i know why !!
From all i can make out it seems that the chaps at google were having a private joke to themselves about *Unexplained Phenomena*. I and many others started to experience *missing links* about the same time as the google image was changed to that of a UFO to go with the theme of *Unexplained Phenomena* lol so i guess they had a bit of fun making stuff disappear for a while.
Today the UFO is gone and everything is working just fine!
