It has a really good balance of stuff that impresses little kids, and things that someone older can enjoy.
But I also think the setting and the events in it might be a long way off from "normalcy" outside of Japan - stuff that really can`t be localized either in a sub or a dub. Not all that many people in the US grew up in a fishing village with all it`s trappings. Or it might be something you can only appreciate if you have kids - like all the Crayon Shinchan movies, that just elicit sighs from the non-parents while parents are literally weeping. There is one of those my husband can`t even TALK about without starting to cry.

That's why I liked it because I'm a child at heart. Going into this film I new it was going to be geared to a younger audience. I also did not expect it to create a whimsical world like Spirited Away or Castle in the Sky. (my personal favorites) However Like I expected You have to watch it a couple of times to see all the details.
