In so far as 'other visas', you'd have to bring something to the table the company couldn't get from a native Japanese for them to even consider sponsoring you. Hence why most English-speakers are there on 'Specialist in Humanitarian Services' visas for eikaiwas.

Yup.
That's also why I'm looking for some gigs as a chef at local Italian restaurants. These Japanese chefs just can NOT cut it.

I'm in Higashiosaka. So on the east side. Tennoji is on the south side, so it's far, but not TOO far. The loop line connects us all...
