That も is indispensable because you're talking about the same thing happening TWICE. It happened いつか(the other day) and it has happened again now.
You're the one who has the context, so you should know something happened twice.
EDIT: も always means "also", "too", or "as well". It also always modifies the word immediately preceding it.
The sentence in question means "I feel like something like this happened the other day, too."
