I saw a lot of it first hand, since I was living in the San Francisco bay area for much of Bush's presidency. There were protests almost daily, and signs and placards that were so hateful many news stations couldn't even air them if they wanted to (and the left-wing SF media certainly didn't want to). They blocked streets for hours several times a week with their protests.
No where did I see Leftists saying "while we may not agree with all of Bush's policies, we should respect that he is the President and tone down the rhetoric." And when the Right said it, they were laughed at and called Nazis and brain-dead ditto-heads. Well, the shoe is on the other foot now, and after 8 years of the most hateful attacks against a President I've ever seen in my life, calls for civility and respect for the office ring utterly hollow and disingenuous... no offense to you or anyone in particular, just a general observation.

People disrespecting, does not make it the right thing to do nor does it make respect the wrong thing.
I feel like liberals and conservatives are just two little kids bickering over who gets to sit in the front seat, when you're only going to the end of the driveway.
