He has never mentioned how long he studied Japanese the first time and what his level was before stopping. I guess answering him in Japanese is no use to him or anyone else who has just started the study of the language....if not showing off by your side for the fact that you can write Japanese.
Yuusuke, what Masaegu wanted to point out is that you never use SAN when you speak about yourself....you just use your name without adding さん.
(Kyle, I agree with you, it looks like he is speaking with the third person. However when you address directly in Japanese to someone you can use the third person...so I am not sure it works the same as in English using the third person for oneself. A native answer would help alot).
