Maybe it is just "kids having fun at a drive-thru" but drive-thrus aren't places to have fun and play jokes, they are places to order food.
You can say the worker and her manager overreacted, but they aren't the ones who initiated the joke, the kids are.
Just because it isn't a big deal doesn't make it right.

To be fair, before this, the most recent incidents of drive-thru pranks were quite harmful.
