There are still tons of survival game groups, and there is even a big one played in a fairly local park twice a year. There are still guns that are legal for the sport, but no makers in Japan as of the time being.
Most of the stuff is pretty expensive though, as there aren`t that many makers with stuff fitting in the Japanese regulations. Prior to the law changing it was pretty easy to find cheaper guns.
Current regulations for paintball in Japan is 177fps, and most places set the regulation to 170...
Airsoft is a lot more popular and easier to find. MOST of the survival games played in Japan are BB, it seems to be harder to get permission to hold paintball events in parks.
