Questions - 11-28-2009, 06:41 AM

I have several questions about japanese:

1) In Japanese, when would someone speak informally instead of in the polite form?

2) I'm wondering about the usage of 'Boku', whether it is informal or polite. When would someone say: 'Boku, (Name)'?

3) Is this always the order for informal greetings:

Person 1 greeting:'Watashi, (name)...'
Person 2 replying: 'Boku, (name)...'

4) Is the 'ku' in 'Yoroshiku' silent just like the 'u' in 'desu'?

5) What is the difference between informal conversation between boys talking boys, and girls talking to girls? Can guys talk informally to girls?

Sorry for asking so many questions,

Sincerely,

Rob
