In the town where i live we used to have 2 lakes. one of them is gone now. the lake used to be pretty big but about 3 years ago the lake looked like a pond then it disappeared. the second one is receding. i figure in order to save the planet and guarantee our survival as a species we need to take responsibility for the care of our planet. some people might say that it goes against our rights, but it doesn't matter whether we like it or not, its our responsibility, just like taking care of a baby or a puppy. you don't take care of it at all and blow smoke in it's face your going to kill it.

i should say that this sounds much better in my head, but thats basically what i think.
Interesting metaphores.
Like yourself, many believe changes in the environment are always bad and unnatural and that man is the root cause. I think this is the real debate here.

I don't think climate change (global warming or global cooling) isn't happening. It is. I just don't believe man is the root cause and we are foolish to believe that man can control the weather or the ever changing globe.

As as the article from MMM posted, it isn't always for the negative. The result of weather is always a gamble. Did we get enough rain this year, did we get too much? Was it too hot or too cold?

Sure I can agree to take some steps to reduce pollution that is harmful to man-kind and the environment. And to some extent for Co2 and methane, but not as a priority over the true problems of the world, economy, and man-kind taking a back seat to polar bears. The views today being shoveled by government and the likes are out of control to the point of man's breath and population control is just genocide.
