You shouldn't try to translate a phrase ending with a particle because no one can translate that が into a language (English in this case) that doesn't use particles. This part is only the subject of the sentence that still continues with the following.

/was (?)/let's/make/ come in (my) mind some scenes (I think is almost totally wrong) ;_;
This got you confused because you separated the sentence and tried to translate each on its own. One simply cannot do this between two linguistically unrelated langauges as Japanese and English. It'll drive you nuts.

Only when a service has been rendered, you can say ありがとう（ございました）.
