The anime and the videogames are harmless. The manga can be a bit violent though, what with pokemon getting murdered (I remember a pair Magmars were frozen solid by a Cloister and then shattered...scary reading that when I was 8).
Yes...I was very much into Pokemon once...not anymore though...no way...*hides copy of HeartGold behind back*
