1. It can mean both and I'd say it's more often used to mean "inner voice".
When it's used for the second meaning, it's the other words that can make it sound cheesy, not the phrase 心の声 itself.
2. ついで here means "doing A while doing B (and possibly even C and D)".
"When I greet (someone), I also would love to jump on him and talk about friendship fist-to-fist."
