Termogard; "Shrug" An army is what it is, merc's or otherwise. They kill, destroy and generally break stuff, that's what they do. Now yes, some armies have a better chain of command and can controle how the troops respond to certain situations. In the end though it's still a WMD, who's primary objective is to destroy the enemy.

The Navi's army was much the same really, sure it was defensive in nature, brought together as a protective measure and rightfully so. However, it's base objectives where identical, destroy the enemy.
